Everyone just continues to wait for Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman to pull off a Houdini act and trade for a top player, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
Edge rusher has been a position of focus for Eagles fans after losing Jaelan Phillips to the Carolina Panthers. Despite the team signing Arnold Ebiketie and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka in free agency, there doesn't appear to be a clear-cut replacement plan. FOX Sports NFL reporter Ralph Vacchiano shared his list of trades that each NFC team should make during the 2026 NFL Draft, with his choice for the Eagles is calling the Cleveland Browns to finally get a Myles Garrett deal done.
Acquire: DE Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns
Cost: 2026 first-round pick (23rd), 2026 third-round pick (68th), 2027 first-round pick
It would be one of the biggest blockbusters in years, considering Garrett has won two of the past three Defensive Player of the Year awards, just set the single-season sack record and is one year into a four-year, $160 million contract. Cleveland might not want to trade him, but what if the Eagles offered Jalen Carter as part of the package in return? Not crazy, considering Philly just signed defensive tackle Jordan Davis to a huge contract. But if the Eagles prefer to keep Carter, then offering the Maxx Crosby package (two first-round picks) and a bit more should be valuable to a rebuilding team like the Browns who might not be good again soon. That’s a problem since Garrett is already 30. But he would instantly give Philly the pass rush it needs to return to the top of the NFC.
Are the Eagles actually going to get a trade done for Myles Garrett?
Garrett is an elite talent and will go down as one of the greatest pass rushers in NFL history. If that is truly the trade proposal the Browns take, it would be the all-time Roseman trade heist of the century.
In reality, though, there's no way the Browns are just taking two first-round picks and a third-round pick to offload a once-in-a-generational talent. Garrett is way too valuable for Cleveland just to get rid of him like that.
The Browns would need a minimum of three first-round picks, which the Eagles have reportedly offered Cleveland at some point last year, but were turned down. It's clear the Browns highly value Garrett and have no intentions of letting him go.

Eagles fans can continue to dream all they want, but this trade isn't going to happen in the draft and most likely won't ever happen.
