After taking a step back in 2025, the Philadelphia Eagles are ready to return to their Super-Bowl-contending ways. So far, they've spent most of the offseason filling out the bottom of their depth chart while managing constant attention surrounding their star players.

Now, it's time to shift their focus fully to the NFL Draft. The Eagles still have some important holes to fill in April on both sides of the ball. Howie Roseman will need to work his draft-day magic to complete the roster for the upcoming season.

Eric Edholm of NFL.com just proposed his ideal draft haul for the Eagles in the first two rounds. He had them taking Auburn edge rusher Keldric Faulk in the first round before picking up Indiana receiver Elijah Sarratt in the second round. While both players are talented, they don't quite fit what the Eagles need.

Proposed Eagles draft haul leaves something to be desired

In a recent article, Edholm named the ideal first two picks for every NFL team. Picking in the back half of each of the top two rounds, the Eagles can't expect to bring in immediate superstars. But the proposed picks may leave fans a bit disappointed.

Edholm backed up his selections of Faulk and Sarratt for Philly, saying, "Faulk feels like a classic Eagles pick, marrying need, value and traits the team seeks. He's young, long, twitchy and brimming with upside, which is exactly what Philly tends to look for in the draft in general, especially on the edge. Sarratt might not be the most dynamic receiver in this draft class, but he's well-built and highly reliable and would be a good stand-in if the Eagles opt to move A.J. Brown."

Faulk certainly looks the part. He's 6'6" and 276 pounds with plenty of strength to spare. But he doesn't have a history of impressive production, especially when rushing the passer. This would be more of a developmental pick than a win-now team like the Eagles can afford to make.

As Edholm mentions, Sarratt would be a contingency plan in case A.J. Brown isn't on the roster at the start of the season. He has many of the same traits as Brown (a large frame, strong hands, and physicality in his routes), but he lacks the athleticism of the superstar receiver. If Brown is still on the roster for 2026, the Indiana prospect's role would be limited.

Sarratt and Faulk are both talented players who could become key contributors in the NFL. But neither would provide the immediate boost that the Eagles are in need of.
