The Philadelphia Eagles have always had one of the deepest rosters in the NFL, thanks to general manager Howie Roseman doing the constructing.

For years, the team has consistently been one of the best, with great work done through the draft and free agency, but there is a lot of doubt among fans about whether the Eagles will be competitive in 2026. NFL.com writer Eric Edholm doesn't seem to have many concerns, as he ranked the Eagles as the third-most complete roster in the league heading into the 2026 season, ranking behind the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.

"Even if the Eagles aren’t quite as deep and stout as they were in some recent seasons, they still possess one of the most complete rosters in the game."

Eagles ranked third in most complete roster in the NFL

It's hard to argue against it, as pretty much every position the Eagles have includes a potential top 10 player in the league in that position. The biggest concerns with Philly right now are safety and offensive line depth.

Everywhere else, the roster is stacked with talent. The Eagles have some of the best young talent on defense, with Jalen Carter, Quinyon Mitchell, and Cooper DeJean, all of whom have been Pro Bowlers, All-Pros, or both. There are older veterans on defense as well, who have been good, like Jordan Davis and Zach Baun.

On offense, Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith are still great weapons in the passing and running games. People might have their thoughts on Jalen Hurts, but he's a proven winner and has been to three Pro Bowls in six years. The Eagles have a lot of great potential rookie talent from the 2026 NFL Draft, with Makai Lemon, Eli Stowers, Markel Bell, Micah Morris, and Cole Payton, who can usher in the new generation of this new-look offense.

Everyone is expecting the Eagles to take a major step back in 2026, but if that is the case, why are all the experts ranking them in the top 10 in power rankings and praising their deep roster?
