The offseason is going to be filled with so many storylines for the Philadelphia Eagles that it might get hard to track.

One of the biggest is what the team does with star wide receiver A.J. Brown. A report recently surfaced that Brown had requested a trade from the Eagles multiple times throughout the season, starting after the Week 3 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Bleacher Report writer Moe Moton wrote that the Eagles' primary priority in the offseason should be to find the best trade package involving Brown. Moton knows Philly has some big money to pay to guys like quarterback Jalen Hurts, but more importantly, to offload a player who isn't happy there.

"Hurts is due $51.5 million in guaranteed money for the 2026 term, and he plays the most important position on the team. If the Eagles break up their quarterback-receiver tandem, Brown will likely be on the way out. Expect Roseman to take the best trade deal for the 28-year-old wideout."

Everyone is on board with the Eagles trading A.J. Brown

This is going to be a narrative pushed every day in the offseason until it actually happens. Brown had his worst season as an Eagle with 1,003 yards and seven touchdowns. It was the first time in his time in Philly that he was neither selected as an All-Pro nor to the Pro Bowl in a season, and he also didn't lead the team in receiving yards; that honor went to DeVonta Smith with 1,008 yards.

Brown has been unhappy in Philly for a long time, as that frustration with the offense and his targets dates back to 2024. The problem is that his financial situation is a mess as the Eagles face a $72 million dead cap in 2026 with Brown.

Also, something the Eagles have to consider is that with Hurts about to get a massive payday in 2026, the future is going to get very expensive for Philly. The Eagles have a ton of young defensive talent who will eventually need contract extensions in the next two to three years.

It's going to be a challenging offseason for Eagles general manager Howie Roseman, as he has to not only find the right deal for Brown but also make sure he doesn't dig the franchise too deep a financial hole so they can continue to be Super Bowl contenders for a long time.
