The Philadelphia Eagles fan base is still feeling the pain of losing in the NFC Wild Card game against the San Francisco 49ers, but that didn't stop general manager Howie Roseman from getting to work on the roster.

Just one day after getting eliminated from postseason contention, the Eagles announced that they have signed eight players to the reserve/future deals list. It's an easy split down the middle with four offensive players and four defensive players.

Here's the list of the players the Eagles signed to the future deals:

  • Chance Campbell, LB
  • Tariq Castro-Fields, DB
  • Danny Gray, WR
  • Gabe Hall, DT
  • Brandon Johnson, DB
  • Jake Majors, C
  • Hollin Pierce, OT
  • Quez Watkins, WR

Some key players are sticking around for the Eagles

There are going to be a lot of familiar faces for the Eagles, as most of them were either in training camp with the Eagles or spent the season on the practice squad. Some even got to see the field this season for the Birds.

Defensive back Brandon Johnson is one of those players who got a chance to play this season. Johnson was primarily on special teams and played in only a few games, but he did see some action for the Eagles.

The rest of the players were in training camp or on the practice squad for Philly. Some standouts from preseason and training camp include the speedster Danny Gray and defensive tackle Gabe Hall. Both were impact players for the Eagles before the season began.

Eagles fans will be happy to see the monstrous Hollin Pierce sticking around with Jeff Stoutland and the offensive line. At 6-foot-8 and 341 pounds, the undrafted rookie out of Rutgers is a bit of a project for the Eagles, but the team is hoping he can turn out to be like Jordan Mailata and develop into a future starter or reserve player.

Philly is getting out of the gates fast in the offseason, and this is only the beginning of what could be a very busy period that might include changes to the coaching staff.
