The roller coaster ride that is the Landon Dickerson injury news has now introduced a twist that will make all Philadelphia Eagles fans happy to hear.

Rolling through the whole timeline, Dickerson injured what looked like his right leg and was carted off the field during Sunday's open practice. On Monday, it was reported that Dickerson injured his meniscus, but the severity of the injury is unknown.

NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo now report that Dickerson will get minor knee surgery and is considered day-to-day. The goal is for him to be ready by the Week 1 home opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

A collective sigh of relief from the city of Philadelphia

This is excellent news for Dickerson, who has had his fair share of minor injuries since the Eagles selected him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He has missed five games in four seasons in Philadelphia.

Last year, Dickerson was dealing with a left knee injury in the playoffs that caused him to leave the Washington Commanders game early. He battled through the injury and played in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs.

Now it becomes a question of whether it is worth rushing him back with the long season ahead. Would Dickerson missing the Cowboys game make a significant impact on the Eagles in that Week 1 matchup, or could they win the match regardless?

For the time being, if Kenyon Green is healthy, he would be the next man up at left guard. Otherwise, it would most likely be Matt Pryor moving from right guard to left guard.

Regardless, the Eagles are relieved to know that their three-time Pro Bowler will be okay and able to play for most of the season.
