A lot of Philadelphia Eagles fans are feeling good about the team after having a strong 2026 NFL Draft.
The Eagles had a strong start with USC wide receiver Makai Lemon, Vanderbilt tight end Eli Stowers, and Miami offensive tackle Markel Bell being selected in the first two days, as well as Philly trading with the Minnesota Vikings for edge rusher Jonathan Greenard. Those moves were not enough to convince NFL Spin Zone's Lou Scataglia ranking the Eagles highly on his post-draft power rankings, placing them at 13.
"The Philadelphia Eagles have again made some drama happen, and it would not have been an NFL Draft without Philly doing neat things. They drafted Makai Lemon, Eli Stowers, and Markel Bell, three polarizing prospects. They also traded for an extended Jonathan Greenard in a move to improve the pass rush, but the Lemon pick sticks out, to be honest, as it does seem to further indicate that AJ Brown is going to be on the move, likely to New England in the summer. Philly, though, is going to continue to be a limited team unless the offense can be perfectly crafted for Jalen Hurts, which is a job that clearly has not happened every season. With Sean Mannion as the new offensive coordinator, he’ll have one of the biggest lifts in the NFL this year. If Hurts can’t thrive with Mannion calling the shots, it’ll be another wasted season."
Should the Eagles be ranked outside the 10 top in the power rankings?
Sure, there may be some questions about Mannion calling plays for the first time in his career and how the safeties will play in 2026. To have the Eagles outside the top 10, with teams like the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars ahead of them and way more questions, is disrespectful.
Losing Brown is going to be a blow for the Eagles, but they have a lot of talent to replace him. Adding guys like Lemon, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, Elijah Moore, and Dontayvion Wicks should be enough to help the offense out even without A.J. Brown in there.
If the offense still concerns people, the defense should at least give fans enough confidence to believe it will play well in 2026. The Eagles have two All-Pros in Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean back, as well as Greenard rushing off the edge, and Zack Baun still controlling the middle of the defense.

The lack of confidence in the Eagles seems very off, but the team and fan base don't matter because general manager Howie Roseman did enough to build another strong roster for the new season.
