2023 Eagles free-agent acquisitions that thankfully won't return next season

The Philadelphia Eagles 2023 free-agent class featured a few names that piqued our interest, but things fizzled in a hurry.

The 2023 Philadelphia Eagles failed to build upon the NFC Championship Game win and near-Super Bowl title from a season ago, but hope springs eternal. They have money to spend this offseason and could free up more with a few shrewd moves to make key acquisitions. Let's hope they follow through and make something happen (an elite edge rusher would be ideal).

One of several reasons Philly failed to accomplish their top goal this season, getting back to football's biggest game (and winning it), was an obvious one. Many of their free-agent additions failed to deliver the sizzle we had hoped for as opposed to years prior when the new guys added a little more bang for the buck.

To be fair, Philly did not sign any high-profile names, so maybe it was wrong to expect the 2023 free-agent class to exceed expectations. Still, a few surprises would have been nice to see.

Many of the new guys Philadelphia signed this past offseason were on a one-year prove-it type of deal. Had someone stood out, they would have been worth signing to an extension. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for most of them. Here are four first-year Eagles veteran additions that will not return in 2024.
