The Philadelphia Eagles are set to begin another NFL season. Wow! It has been a long journey for one of the more storied teams in professional football. They won three NFL Championships pre-merger, but there have also been long stretches of sub-par activity and losing seasons. Fortunately, recent history has been kind to the Eagles fans. They have qualified for three Super Bowls this millennium (and four total). The first Vince Lombardi Trophy was won in February of 2018.

Ahead of the 2023 NFL season, Philly's all-time regular-season win-loss total stood at 613-630-27, earning them a .493 win percentage. That ranks 19th among all professional franchises. However, one thing that can't ever be taken away from this team is their passionate fans.

The Philly faithful have stood with the team through the ups and the downs. That includes five head-to-head series versus a handful of teams that have historically had their number. Here are five ACTIVE teams that they have the worst head-to-head records against. We have thrown out their 6-15-1 mark versus the Brooklyn Tigers.

1. Cincinnati Bengals - (3-9-2 during the regular season)

Some teams just have other teams' numbers. The circumstances never seem to matter. It never seems to matter how good or bad both teams are. The Eagles always have trouble with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Philly's last win versus Cincy came in 2000. These two only meet once every four seasons. We'll see what happens the next time they clash.

2. Chicago Bears (14-29-1 during the regular season, 3-1 in the postseason)

The Eagles and Bears have met numerous times over the years, and who would have thought? It all dates back to a 3-3 tie in 1933.

Following that tie, Chicago won ten straight versus Philadelphia, and that's much of the reason why this series is so heavily tilted in the Bears' favor. The Eagles have taken control of the series as of late, but it will take some time to bring the winning percentage to an even .500.

3. Cleveland Browns (17-32-1)

The Cleveland Browns regular season win percentage, a .489 mark ahead of 2023, nearly matches that of the Eagles. Youngsters may not believe this to be the case based on Cleveland's recent lack of success, but they have dominated the head-to-head series.

Cleveland had Philly's number during the 1950s, and that trend continued through the 90s. Prior to the Eagles' loss to the Browns in 2020, they had defeated them in five prior meetings, a mark that dates back to 2000.

4. Green Bay Packers (16-28 during the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs)

Historically, the Green Bay Packers have dominated the Eagles throughout the regular season. They have done it with Hall of Fame quarterbacks like Bart Starr and Brett Farve. Aaron Rodgers has also had some success.

The Pack is synonymous with stellar QB play. s of success. Though many of the regular season games may have been challenging, the Eagles defeated the Packers in the 1960 NFL Championship handing Green Bay coach Vince Lombardi his only postseason loss.

5. Los Angeles Chargers (5-8)

In thirteen meetings versus the San Diego and Los Angeles Chargers, the Eagles have won five times. The last meeting between these two teams came in 2021, and L.A. claimed a 27-24 victory at Lincoln Financial Field.

Philly won the prior meeting during an early season match-up in 2017. We'll see what happens the next time they meet.
