Though most of us have missed most of their games, the Philadelphia Eagles have been proud members of the NFL's family for a long time. nine decades to be exact. The 2023 NFL season doubles as the Birds' 91st of action. Seasons pass. Things change. Some things stay the same. Over time, despite losing more games than they have won, they have been home to the most loyal fan base in sports. They have also established long-term dominance over some of pro football's other franchises.

Ahead of the 2023 NFL season, Philly's all-time regular-season win-loss total stood at 613-630-27, earning them a .493 win percentage. That ranks them 19th among all professional franchises.

Decades have passed. Hundreds of games have been played. Philly has had more success versus some teams than others. Philly will push that all-time record above .500 sooner rather than later. Who knows? Had they played the five franchises on this list more often they may have already done so.

Here are the five teams that the Eagles have had their best winning percentages against in head-to-head action.

1. New York Jets (12-0)

The New York Jets are one of two teams the Eagles have never lost to during the regular season. Philadelphia's 2021 meeting with them ended with a 33-18 victory. Backup QB Gardner Minshew filled in for an injured Jalen Hurts and shined in that one.

2. Houston Texans (6-0)

The Eagles have never lost to the Houston Texans either. An expansion team that began playing in 2002, the Texans have played victim to the Birds six times. The most recent meeting came in 2022, a 29-17 victory for Philly.

3. Carolina Panthers (8-4 during the regular season, 8-5 overall)

The Carolina Panthers are the only NFC team on this list. They are also one of the newer teams in the league, one that began playing in 1995.

Philadelphia earned a 21-18 victory in 2021 in come-from-behind fashion. Their lone postseason meeting occurred in January of 2004 during an NFC Championship Game. Carolina denied the Eagles a chance of a Super Bowl appearance and won by a score of 14-3.

4. Denver Broncos (9-5)

The Eagles have taken on the Denver Broncos on 14 occasions since the two teams first met in 1971. By virtue of Denver being an AFC team, unless these two proud franchises meet in the Super Bowl, they'll only meet once every four years.

Philly has won the head-to-head clashes more often than not. The series currently sits at nine wins for the Eagles versus five losses. Denver's only win in the City of Brotherly Love came in 1986.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers (48-29-3)

Despite the Pittsburgh Steelers playing in the AFC, the Eagles have faced their in-state rival 80 times. Much of that is due to many clashes that came before the AFL and NFL merged in 1970.

The Steelers are one of pro football's most successful franchises as they are the owners of six Super Bowl wins. The Eagles hope to catch them one day, but for now, they'll have to settle for a 48-29-3 record versus The Black and Gold and the knowledge that the Steelers haven't won in Philadelphia since October 24th of 1965.

Take a walk down memory lane.
