Ian Book, quarterback

Don't look now, but Ian Book may be in a bit of hot water. He was claimed off waivers by the Philadelphia Eagles on August 31st of 2022. He spent the entire regular season on the 53-man roster, normally as a healthy scratch on game days, but the Birds added rookie Tanner McKee during the NFL Draft, Something has been on our minds since then.

We don't know if Book is better than McKee or vice versa. You shouldn't be shocked if either man finds himself on the outside of the 53-man roster and looking in.

Quez Watkins, wide receiver

Yeah, we had to cycle back to Quez Watkins. Here's the thing. He had some tough moments last season and, to his credit, acknowledged that he must improve, but you can't drop an easy pass in practice IMMEDIATELY after the head coach, Nick Sirianni, sticks his neck out for you and mentions you as someone he has had his eye on.

Some have already given up on Quez. We realize that. You shouldn't, but we understand the frustration. He'll make the team, but if something doesn't change, he figures to be staring up at Zaccheaus on the depth chart.
