We knew this day would come. Heck, we knew this day would come soon. Nick Foles announced via social media that he intends to call it a career, hang up his cleats, and ride off into the sunset. Sure, he thanked the 'Saint Louis' Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Jacksonville Jaguars, Chicago Bears, and Indianapolis Colts, but come on. When we think of him, do we think of anything other than what he did as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles?
No one should be shocked in knowing he's ending his career in the City of Brotherly Love.
The Eagles have announced Saint Nick is coming home. He'll officially retire from the NFL as a member of the team who drafted him. He'll be in town for the home opener vs. the Atlanta Falcons.
Take a look.
Ending it where it all started.

As you might expect, the news hasn't slipped by the Eagles faithful.
The Nick Foles love fest continues among the NFL and Eagles faithful.
He's immortalized in a statue that celebrates the most famous play call in Super Bowl history. His teammates loved him so much that they built a shrine to him in his locker.
All retirement announcements are not created equally. Nick's announcement has evoked both appreciation and adoration.

The passing stats are legendary. The story is one you'd take to a movie studio and be thrown out of the office for writing.
'That would never happen'. That's what they'd tell you, but it did happen. We were all there to see it.
Foles didn't have the physical gifts that Michael Vick had. He wasn't supposed to be the savior of a franchise like Carson Wentz. But, his is one of the best football stories ever told. His place in the hearts of Eagles fans is secure.
No other man can say he led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win as their starting QB. Once another does the same, they won't be able to say they did it first.
Nick is partially responsible for one of our favorite memories as Eagles fans. He's coming home on September 16th, and we can't wait to see him.
