Brandon Graham quietly set a new Eagles benchmark during Week 1 win vs Packers

It wasn't discussed in great detail, but Brandon Graham has done something no Eagles star has ever done.

"Everybody in their place of work needs a Brandon Graham, somebody that comes to work every day that's so excited to be there. (Someone) that's so excited to be a good teammate." Those were the words of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni during a chart he shared with 94 WIP-FM's Morning Team.

B.G. has long earned his wings. He's beloved by the Philly media, Birds fans, and even rivals. We've NEVER heard a teammate say anything bad about him.

Graham enters year 15 as a team captain and franchise icon. This is his swan song, and trust us. He's going to make it memorable. It already is in several ways.

Brandon Graham sets an Eagles franchise record thanks to Week 1's game versus the Packers.

15 years is a long time to do anything. When B.G.'s 15th NFL season is done, he'll have quite the story to tell his grandchildren. It includes both Eagles and Michigan Wolverines football. He can also tell them about the time he stripped the ball out of the hands of another Wolverine's hands on football's grandest and largest stage.

You may have heard about that one as it helped deliver Philly its first Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Graham has also set franchise records. Suiting up and playing in Week 1's game versus the Packers means he's the only player in this franchise's nine decades to walk into year 15 and play a football game.

He had previously been tied with the great Chuck Bednarik, aka 'Concrete Charlie' whose career lasted 14 seasons.

B.G.'s game on Friday also extends another of his franchise records, most career games played by any one player in the Eagles' jersey. Philly's first regular-season game of 2024 marked Graham's 196th. He'll be well over 200 when he hangs up the cleats for good.

With how players move from team to team in a nomadic profession like the NFL, something tells us this particular benchmark will stand for a while.

IN all honesty, we have no issue with that at all.
