Eagles announce the dress code for two regular-season contests
It wasn't a huge scare but it was a scare nonetheless. This one wasn't about any injuries or a trade. No one made any concerning comments via their social media handle. Well, one did (kind of). Remember that Darius Slay thing? You know the one. There was that interview and the announcement that the Philadelphia Eagles probably wouldn't rock their alternate kelly green jerseys in 2024.
While that may not sound like much to the casual fan, many of us who grew up on kelly green jerseys and silver pants expressed some concern. We kind of missed the old attire and felt some nostalgia when Philly brought the old look back last season.
A rose grew from the concrete. We learned that Slay may have misspoken and that the Birds would indeed rock the fan favs during the coming regular season. We just didn't know when the dates of those games would be.
Fear not. Eagles social media served up an update on June's final Friday.
The Eagles announce they will wear kelly green in Week 9 and Week 17 during the 2024 NFL season.
"Save the dates"! That was the announcement on Philly's social media accounts and their team site. It's official! They will wear their kelly green jerseys during two games, Week 9's contest versus the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 3 and their Week 17 tussle versus the hated Dallas Cowboys on December 29.
Expect to see the fans at Lincoln Financial Field wearing some kelly green attire of their own. At the time of this story's release, we don't know when we'll see the black jerseys, but something (and history) tells us the Week 18 home clash versus the Giants is a good guess.
