Another day passes. The youngsters have gotten a day older, and as we settle into May, the first weekend brings a rookie minicamp hosted by the Philadelphia Eagles. Don't get too excited though.

The newest Birds can hang out at the NovCare Complex, build camaraderie, and meet their position coaches. There won't be any contact though. We won't drop or read any content about who made a name for themselves.

But, hey! There's other news to report. A former first-rounder earned a tryout. So did a former return specialist. The latter is a former two-time Second-Team All-Pro.

Meanwhile, we get to talk Eagles football capacity in some fashion. Now that we think about it, in the end, that's why we're all here, right? Here's something of note. We do have something that is always fun to talk about.

The members of the Eagles' rookie draft class selects their jersey numbers.

As we move toward another weekend, we also place a bow on May's first few days. The announcement comes that Philly has assigned numbers to their nine-man 2024 draft class.

Check them out!

Every time we look at the Number 54 and see 'Trotter' is on the back of it again, we can't help but smile. He'll be compared to his father constantly which could result in some added pressure, but don't tell our 'Junior Axeman' that. He's looking to blaze his trial and do his own thing. Frankly, we should be patient and be accepting of that.

Anyway... 'Trot' is one member of a nine-man class that is filled out by both unknowns and guys with immense potential (and, many of the guys fit both categories).

Training camp will give us a better understanding of the tools they have in their respective toolbelts. That's when the real fun begins, but something as simple as receiving a jersey always makes guys feel like they're truly part of a team.

Just don't preorder any yet. Something tells us there may be changes after training camp. That 39 below Will Shipley's name looks like a weird number for a tailback.
