Former 1st rounder's Eagles tryout among expected activities of rookie minicamp
Gosh, it's getting hot outside, and the temperature is rising at the NovaCare Complex. May's first weekend brings intrigue and a few Philadelphia Eagles nuggets to discuss.
The most recent NFL Draft gave us plenty to talk about. Nine new rookies and another half dozen UDFAs will be on the tips of our tongues all spring and summer. They'll also be attending rookie minicamp.
There's other news to report. Who would thought? Two former first-rounders have also been added. One is here on a tryout basis. He'll be at the NovaCare Complex this weekend as well.
John Ross joins a group of exciting youngsters at Eagles rookie minicamp, but he does so on a tryout basis.
Perhaps you've heard. Philly recently added two former first-rounders to the nest, Mekhi Becton and John Ross. The latter, a wide receiver, will attend rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
NFL Communications announced that Philly will host its rookie camp this weekend. The dates are Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th.
The rest of the offseason schedule can be found by visiting this link. As for Ross, he comes to Philly with hopes of reviving an NFL career that began with stops with the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, and Kansas City Chiefs. This after a productive collegiate career with the Washington Huskies.
As an NCAA star, Ross was a 2016 First-Team All-American who earned First-team All-Pac-12 honors and the Pac-12 Player of the Year Award that same season. He's attempting to join a wide receiver room that boasts nine players on Philly's preseason roster.
A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, DeVante Parker, Parris Campbell, Britain Covey, Shaquan Davis, Jacob Harris, Joseph Ngata, and Austin Walker are the names on that list. That's who he's hoping to join.
We'll see what happens and if he has any juice left. You'll know what happens when we know.
