Eagles announce team captains for the 2024-25 NFL season

The Philadelphia Eagles are back! Every step of the journey is a reminder. Every box checked reminds us another regular season nears. We're less than a week from the opener in Brazil.

They'll be wearing white jerseys, black helmets, and black pants. One week before the festivities, they named their captains for the 2024-25 season.

Here's a look at the players the Philadelphia Eagles names as captains for the 2024-25 NFL season.

The coming NFL season marks Philly's 92nd of existence. Eagles have named seven captains. Here's a look at some extraordinary Birds.

Jalen Hurts

An obvious selection here, QB1 has shown leadership and maturity since 2020 when he was the backup. This Eagles team belongs to him now. So does his fourth nod as team captain, one that coincides with his fourth nod as team captain.

Lane Johnson

Lane Johnson continues to get better with age like a fine wine. He's now a three-time captain entering his dozenth season. His legendary career rolls on. He'll be a Pro Football Hall of Famer when he's done.

Brandon Graham

Now, in his 15 and final season, Brandon Graham is now a six-time captain. Something tells us that he is somewhere smiling and laughing.

Jordan Mailata

Perhaps one of Jeff Stoutland's biggest success stories, Jordan Mailata didn't know how to put his helmet on when he arrived in Philadelphia. Now, he's a team captain for the first time and one of the game's best young tackles.

Jake Elliott

A Super Bowl Champion, fan favorite, 2021 Pro Bowler, and 2023 Second-Team All-Pro. Jake Elliott enters his third season as a team captain. It's a well-deserved honor.

AJ Brown

He's added two more Pro Bowl nods to his resume since joining the Eagles and has three in total (2020, 2022, 2023). A Second-Team All-Pro these past two seasons, AJ Brown enters his second season as a captain.

Darius Slay

Big Play Slay enters his fifth season with Philadelphia and his fourth season as a team captain. Three consecutive Pro Bowl nods have resulted from his tenure. He has been named to six Pro Bowl rosters. Being named to a seventh is probably very possible.
