This time last year, confidence was high. The Philadelphia Eagles were atop the football universe and would stay there for a few more weeks. Despite a sad ending to a fine season, it was all good after a first-round bye.

The Birds awaited the hated New York Giants in the Divisional Round of last year's NFL Playoffs. They'd win that one, then an NFC Championship Game. That Super Bowl thing didn't go as planned. As fate would have it, changes came during a long offseason. That brings us to another story.

Philly was forced to replace both coordinators during the 2023 offseason. Less than 365 days later, they're back in the same position, albeit for different reasons. The more things change, the more they stay the same, huh?

Despite rumors of Nick Sirianni's demise, it appears he'll be involved in the process of retooling the coaching staff again. No one expects Philly to return its offensive and defensive coordinators (or its senior defensive assistant, but even though Sean Desai and Matt Patricia haven't been dismissed at the time of this story's release, we thought we'd offer unsolicited advice on where Philly might begin looking to find its next defensive coordinator.

Hot NCAA prospects: Jesse Minter, Michigan Wolverines

Jesse Minter is The Maize and Blue's defensive coordinator. He also interviewed with the Eagles for the defensive coordinator position during the most recent offseason.

Under his watch, the Michigan Wolverines were the NCAA's top-ranked defense this past season. The Michigan Wolverines finished first in both scoring defense and yards allowed as Minter's unit helped lead the charge to a College Football Playoff National Championship Game win.
