Eagles news: Conor McGregor makes some new friends, Isaiah Rodgers injury update

It's hard to miss someone like Conor McGregor at Chickie’s & Pete’s and equally as difficult to miss expected contributors returning to practice.

Life is full of surprises. Seven years ago, we hoped the Philadelphia Eagles could build off of year one with Carson Wentz and be pretty good. Let's just say things turned out better than we ever could have hoped or imagined.

We had no idea that a recently reacquired Nick Foles would outduel Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. We had no idea when that team lost its second game of the season in Kansas City versus the Chiefs (and LeGarrette Blount didn't earn a single carry) that we were looking at an eventual Super Bowl-winning team.

What can we say? Sometimes, it's nice to be wrong, and ever since then, the surprises have continued.

We didn't know the Eagles would hire Nick Sirianni in 2021. We didn't think he'd lead them back to a Super Bowl appearance in his second season at the helm.

We certainly didn't expect the Birds would play a game in Brazil one day or they'd wear black helmets and pants when they did so.

Hey, you never know, but what's that saying? Life is like a box of chocolates, right?

Eagles news: Conor McGregor hangs out at Chickie’s & Pete’s!

Speaking of surprises, here's another. Conor McGregor recently hung out at Chickie's and Pete's on a Thursday evening. Something tells us that most who made the trek there weren't expecting to see a mixed martial arts legend.

Surprises... An Irish UFC legend rocking an Eagles T-shirt and doing an Eagles chant. Truthfully, the only thing that would have made this better would be having had a seat somewhere in the venue.

Thank Big Dom DiSandro for stopping by to pay Champ a visit!

More Eagles news: Isaiah Rodgers is trending towards playing on Monday Night Football.

For those of you looking for something game related, you're in luck. We have some injury updates.

Milton Williams was a limited participant in Thursday's Eagles practice. Isaiah Rodgers and Devin White, after missing Week 1's game were both full participants.

Devin White recently discussed the coaching staff's decision to keep Nakobe Dean in the starting lineup. He also said he hasn't received word about his status for Monday, but seeing him and Isaiah practice is a positive sign.

Now, there's just one final order of business. We only need the Eagles medical staff to clear them for action.

Sorry guys, but we never assume guys are playing in situations like these. We won't be certain until we see them on the field on game day and they wear pads.

This story was published at 4:30 pm EST on Friday and continues to develop. We'll continue to update as new information is given. Stay tuned!

Update: 6 pm EST on September 13

Per the Eagles' Friday injury report, there had been no status changes for Williams, White, and Rodgers, but AJ Brown (hamstring) and Fred Johnson (thumb) had been added to the injury report. They were limited at Friday's practice.

Again, no official word has been given yet. We'll get the game-day statuses on Saturday, but as of now, this could be good news for White and Rodgers. They appear to be trending towards playing.
