And, just like that, a month of the NFL season is behind us. Storylines and subplots abound as you would expect. Let's just talk about some of the oft-mentioned teams in the National Football Conference. The New York Giants are awful. The Dallas Cowboys are overrated. The Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers are the lone remaining unbeaten teams.

Oh, and as you would expect, people can't stop talking about the Birds. Let's get into a few stories.

Eagles news: Defending champion Eagles land stud WR in 2024 mock draft.

Our friends at Pro Football Focus have been busy. Their Fantasy football stuff is outstanding. Their ratings engine keeps us talking, and recently, they dropped a brand new mock draft.

Philly picks last in the first round. We're guessing that means that some of the PFF staff is picking the Birds to win the Super Bowl?

Anyway, the Eagles land a stud wide receiver in this mock, South Carolina Gamecocks star Xavier Legette. We doubt they'd go that route. It just isn't in their nature, but for the sake of argument, here's what was said.

"Legette is one of the biggest risers this season. This summer, the 6-foot-3, 227-pound senior receiver was an afterthought in the draft community. But this season, he has broken out in a huge way and could even find his way into the first round. His combination of size and speed is unique, and he’s currently fourth in the country in receiving yards."

We're a long from next April. It's still always fun to talk about next year's prospects. Trust us. Philly's scouts are doing the same thing.

More Eagles news: Nicholas Morrow keeps climbing PFF's ladder!

Speaking of PFF, how about those positional grades? Some of them we get. Some are slightly more difficult to understand, but here's what can be guaranteed. They always keep us talking.

Look who landed among their highest-graded linebackers. It's Philly's own Nicholas Morrow! An 11-tackle, three-sack performance with three additional QB hits and three tackles for loss will do that for you.

While we're at it, can we get a ratings boost on Electronic Arts' Madden NFL 24 game for this guy? He's earned that, right? Can you believe this guy got cut after the preseason?

More Eagles news: Darius Big Play Slay offers his take on the recent A.J. Brown drug test.

Well friends, as fun as this has been, we have to say goodbye for now, but before we do so. We'll leave you with this.

Most of you know the story... A.J. Brown rocked some colorful cleats so his daughter could spot him on Monday Night Football. League offices forced him to remove them because he was in violation of the NFL's uniform policy. He rocked some pink cleats on Sunday in Week 4.

Following nine catches that resulted in 175 yards receiving and two TDs, he was given a 'random' drug test, one that he wound up passing. Many of us were upset about the whole thing. As he often does, Brown's teammate and fellow team captain Darius 'Big Play' Slay helped us laugh about the whole thing.

Well, when you put it like that, what do we have to be upset about? Well played Slay... Well played...
