Eagles rival issues his claim to Philadelphia, NFL: 'It's our turn'
You have heard that saying about living rent-free in other people's heads, right? If you haven't or if it has been a while, being a Philadelphia Eagles fan has no doubt led to you seeing those words play out physically during the first half of the 2023 calendar year. First came the poor manner in which the San Francisco Forty-Whiners handled a loss... Oops... Sorry about that typo. We meant the San Francisco 49ers.
Philadelphia drew the Niners' ire following a 31-7 rear-end whooping in the NFC Championship Game this past January. Apparently, it's Philly's fault that San Fran tried to block Haason Reddick with a reserve tight end.
No one was hurt when Donovan McNabb went down versus the Carolina Panthers in January of 2004, but that's another story for another day. Somehow, the Niners convinced themselves that the Eagles are at fault because they showed up to Lincoln Financial Field unprepared for the possibility that Brock Purdy might be lost to injury.
San Fran's worst fears materialized. Purdy went down. Kyle Shanahan didn't have a backup plan (or in this case, a backup quarterback), and Philly has lived... well... rent-free in the Niners' minds ever since. Such is life. When you're the. reigning NFC Champions, you're never starved of a few haters. Look no further than our good friend in Texas.
Micah Parson just can't keep his mind off of what the Philadelphia Eagles are doing.
Yes friends, There's no need to adjust your television sets or change the video settings on those laptops and tablets. This is not a drill. Micah Parsons STILL can't keep his mind off of what the Philadelphia Eagles are doing.
Recently, he spoke with Scott Thompson of FOX News Digital and dismissed the theory that the Eagles have a realistic shot at getting back to the Super Bowl this season and winning it. Parsons states it's the Cowboys' turn. Stop us if you've heard this before.
We know... We know... It isn't even funny when you hear the words anymore. How long has this drum been beaten?
"Man, I don't say nothing. The work is going to put in. You still got to show up on Sundays, man. You could have the best lineup in the world, (and) they had the same team they had last year. Their team came up short. It’s our turn this year. You gotta capitalize on your opportunities and this is our year."

Well, we thought we'd get through an entire offseason without having to hear a narrative that has existed for almost three decades. Perhaps we were silly to think we would. Cue the headlines. Dallas Cowboys fans and their players believe it's 'their time'.
This comes after DeMarcus Lawrence stated the Cowboys' roster is almost as good as Philly's and after so many other asinine takes have come from a once proud fan base and organization. Maybe it's something in the water. Maybe they're just delusional. We believe something else is at play.
We get where he's coming from. Truly we do. As a former Penn State Nittany Lions star and a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, it was probably Parson's goal to play for the Philadelphia Eagles at some point. The Birds had their shot at landing him with the tenth-overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft. Philly elected instead to go with DeVonta Smith. Micah was added by the Cowboys two picks later at 12, and he has yet to get over it.
Don't get us wrong. Micah can ball, but we're satisfied with DeVonta. Thank goodness Philly made the right choice. Parsons' obsession with what the Birds are doing drives the point home for us.
Who knows? One day, Mr. Parsons might achieve his dreams of trading blue and grey for midnight green. Until then, expect to suffer through some overused theories and irritating comments. Hey, they wouldn't be the Dallas Cowboys without them.
