We begin Week 3 of Philadelphia Eagles training camp but with only an actual week's worth of practices logged. Seven sessions are in our rearview mirror. The Birds hit the playing surface at the NovaCare Complex at 10 am EST on Monday to begin an eighth. This is the second of four straight on-field workouts before Philly travels on Thursday to meet the Baltimore Ravens on Friday.

Whew! That was a mouthful.

Eagles practices are never short on a few onlookers. The G.O.A.T. Jason Kelce made an appearance as did media members. No one missed one of the greatest O-linemen in history's presence nor the return of two current trench warriors.

Eagles news: Mekhi Becton and Tyler Steen return for eighth practice session.

Competition is heating up at Eagles camp. Have you ever noticed how quickly some guys can recover from injury when there are roster spots to be won? Tyler Steen tweaked an ankle a little over a week ago. That flung a door open. It wasn't much later that it appeared to everyone with eyeballs on the fallout to determine that Mekhi Becton was making the most of some added opportunity (and possibly sneaking into Philly's starting lineup).

Adversity came quickly. We thought Steen might be out for a while. Becton missed the seventh practice because of an illness. Both he and Steen returned to the eighth practice on Monday.

Pay attention to these guys from now until the end of the preseason. The battle for a starting job on the O-line will be intense.

More Eagles roster news: Philly says goodbye to Jason Poe, adds Shaquille Quarterman.

Philly has juggled their roster again. In addition to everything stated above, they announced they were waiving offensive lineman Jason Poe and signing linebacker Shaquille Quarterman.

The former undrafted rookie free agent enjoyed stops with the San Francisco 49ers (2022-2023) and New York Jets (2023) before arriving in Philadelphia. He was added to the Eagles nest on January 18 by way of a reserve/future contract but will now be replaced by Quarterman.

The Eagles new linebacker has logged 63 in-game appearances, 171 defensive snaps, and 931 special teams snaps over four NFL seasons. That has resulted in 54 tackles and a forced fumble.
