The Philadelphia Eagles relied heavily on their depth in Week 3. A.J. Brown was sidelined before game time, and key players left during the contest due to injuries.

Wide receivers Jahan Dotson and Parris Campbell, as well as offensive linemen Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson, were thrust into pivotal roles. On the other side of the ball, the defense continued to lean on the consistent play of Reed Blankenship and Brandon Graham.

Jordan Davis found some traction. Josh Huff saw less time. Here’s a breakdown of snap counts and performance of these players during the Eagles' 15-12 victory over the Saints.

You'll be pleased by what you see in some instances. You'll be confused during others, but it's always some fun to dig into the numbers' right?

Notable Offense Snap Counts

Jahan Dotson and Parris Campbell

Both wide receivers played significant roles in Week 3 due to multiple starters suffering from injuries (AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, Britain Covey). Dotson led the Eagles’ WR corps with 63 snaps (88%), while Campbell played 36 snaps (50%), stepping up mid-game as the Eagles dealt with injuries.

Campbell’s involvement could increase in the coming weeks, especially with Covey likely to miss time due to a shoulder injury, Smith in concussion protocol, and potentially Brown’s lingering hamstring injury.

Dotson managed two catches for eight yards, while Campbell had two grabs for 13 yards, but their opportunities may expand soon.

Tyler Steen and Fred Johnson

With Mehki Becton out (finger) and Lane Johnson leaving the game with a concussion, the two backup offensive linemen played major roles. Of the 72 total snaps, Steen saw 58 snaps (80.6%) and Johnson close behind with 54 (75%).

Their seamless integration into the offensive line was a positive, as neither stood out—which, for linemen, is typically a sign they’re doing their job well. As the Eagles face more challenges on offense, their depth along the line will be crucial.

Notable Defensive Snap Counts

Reed Blankenship

For the third straight game, Blankenship played every single defensive snap, totaling 56 this week. His consistency and reliability continue to shine, and his second interception of the season proved to be the game-winner.

Blankenship also got a little extra action on offense, taking three snaps in the victory formation. He even contributed to special teams with two snaps. The Eagles have found a reliable playmaker in Blankenship, and it will be exciting to see how he continues to develop.

Brandon Graham

The seasoned veteran was a game-changer, logging 35 snaps (63%). He played a crucial role during the Saints’ fourth-and-one red zone attempt after the blocked punt. Graham’s pressure on Derek Carr in the final moments led to a game-sealing interception by Reed Blankenship.

While Graham’s 35 snaps marked a season-high, the question remains whether he can maintain this pace throughout the season. It’s his third-highest snap count since the beginning of 2023, showing how vital he is to this defense, especially in critical moments.

Jordan Davis

Davis’ workload remained consistent with 29 snaps (52%), matching his output from Week 2. The difference? He made those snaps count.

His early sack of Carr set the tone for the defense and helped Davis double his tackle total for the season, collecting four tackles in total. His presence in the middle is starting to be felt, and his ability to disrupt plays early is something the Eagles will look to build upon moving forward.

Bryce Huff

After a solid Week 2, Huff’s snaps dipped from 32 to 18 against the Saints. It’s clear the coaching staff is still figuring out how to best utilize him, but he’ll need to show more consistency to regain those lost reps.

Defensive coordinator Vic Fangio seems to be looking elsewhere in the rotation, and Huff will have to elevate his play to remain in the mix.

Jalyx Hunt

The rookie edge rusher is still waiting for his first defensive snap, while the team’s established pass rushers—Huff, Sweat, Graham, and Nolan Smith—have yet to register a sack this season. Hunt did see action on special teams with nine reps, but his defensive debut remains on hold.
