Well, we told you this young man is special. Some of you doubted Jalen Hurts. You spent the entire 2022 offseason and preseason analyzing every throw and every statement that was made about the Philadelphia Eagles' QB1. We told you he would be fine.

We told you he was something special, and while it can, at times, be immature to wave the finger and say 'I told you so', that's exactly what we're going to do. Yep! We told you so.

In 2022, Jalen Hurts did everything that was asked of him, minus winning the Super Bowl, and had his defensive teammates made one stop in the second half of football's biggest game, or had the offense scored four more points, he would have done that too.

The secret is out. Jalen Hurts is the real deal. He IS a franchise quarterback, and in 2023, he isn't going to sneak up on anyone or catch anyone off guard. Just ask his peers across the league. They seem to think he's a big deal.

Eagles QB1 Jalen Hurts lands at number three on the NFL's Top 100 Players of 2023 countdown.

Another NFL Top 100 Players ranking is in the books. Every year, pro football stars grab their ballots hit the polls, and vote for their peers in an attempt to rank the best of the best. Six Eagles received nods between spots 22 and 100: DeVonta Smith (100), Darius Slay (65), Haason Reddick (48), Lane Johnson (41), Jason Kelce (37), and A.J. Brown (22). When we reached the top ten, another familiar face was unveiled.

Jalen Hurts landed at number three on the countdown. That ties the highest ranking ever given to an Eagles star (Carson Wentz was ranked third in 2018). The entire top ten is as follows.

  1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
  2. Justin Jefferson, MInnesota Vikings
  3. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
  4. Nick Bosa, San Francisco 49ers
  5. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
  6. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
  7. Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins
  8. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
  9. Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys
  10. Chris Jones, Kansas City Chiefs

Jalen Hurts crafted a 14-1 record as a starter while throwing for 3,701 yards and 22 touchdowns. He scored another 13 TDs with his legs. An offseason extension ensures he isn't scheduled to hit free agency until 2029. From where we're sitting, the Eagles can pat themselves on the back. That was money well spent.

They have found their franchise QB. We'll see if he can get back to football's biggest game and win it. Until then, he'll give Philly a chance in every game they suit up for, and in the NFL that's all you can ask. Buckle up. Year four is loading.
