LeSean McCoy to be inducted into Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame
In Detroit, when you say 'Shady', everyone knows who you're talking about, the great Eminem. Whenever you say the name 'Shady' to a Philadelphia Eagles fan, we all think of someone else.
Six seasons was all it took for the great LeSean McCoy to etch himself into our minds and hearts forever. Now, rightfully so, he will be officially immortalized as news broke that every Birds fan knew they'd hear at some point.
LeSean McCoy will be inducted into the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame at halftime of their Week 9 game versus the Jaguars.
Week 9 might be one that you already circled on the calendar. Former Eagles head coach Doug Pederson comes home and brings his Jacksonville Jaguars with him, but the game will now see some added significance.
Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Lurie announced during halftime of Philly's preseason finale that Shady McCoy will be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame during Week 9's Sunday Night Football contest versus the Jags. The festivities will take place on November 3rd.
The resume speaks for itself. Shady is the Eagles' all-time leading rusher. From 2009-2014, he nabbed two First-Team All-Pro nods. He was a three-time Pro Bowler. He'd wind up with six nominations for his career.
He's a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. He was the NFL rushing touchdowns leader in 2011 and the NFL rushing yards leader in 2013. While we congratulate him on deservedly being honored by the Eagles, in all honesty, we believe he deserves to have a bust carved and a spot in Canton's Pro Football Hall of Fame.
