Alshon Jeffery - Wide Receiver
As mentioned earlier, Nelson Agholor gave the number 17 jersey away in 2017, and no self-respecting Eagles fan has to be reminded of who it was given to.
Alshon Jeffery joined the Eagles as a free agent after spending his first five seasons with the Chicago Bears. He'd remain with the Birds through the 2020 season. He was injured most of the time but also has his fingerprints all over Philly's first Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Jeffery showed out in his first year with Philly. He recorded 789 receiving yards with nine touchdowns during 16 games but made his money during the Super Bowl run.
The former University of South Carolina standout really proved his worth in the 2017 playoffs, as he hauled 12 receptions for 219 yards with three touchdowns. But the Super Bowl is where Alshon really shined.
Despite playing through a torn rotator cuff that we learned later plagued him all season, he caught three passes for 73 yards with one touchdown, a beauty he snagged in the back of the end zone. Philly's first Super Bowl win came at the expense of one of pro football's great dynasties the Bill Belichick and Tom Brady-led New England Patriots.
Alshon missed three games in 2018 and still wound up with 65 receptions, 843 yards receiving, and six TDs. He was never able to duplicate that success during the two seasons that followed as injuries forced him to miss all but ten games in 2019 and all but seven games in 2020.
