Nick Sirianni's first press conference of another Philadelphia Eagles training camp was one of positivity. He says he and Jalen Hurts are cool. That was awesome. We were even given a bonus. Howie Roseman sat with him. Both were very complimentary of third-year linebacker Nakobe Dean.

Don't give up hope on the former Dawg if that has been your thinking. Leadership and his teammates certainly haven't turned the page on him. Coach Sirianni even joked during that first presser that Dean was who first asked him when the pads would be worn.

Nakobe's confidence hasn't been shaken. That's obvious, and it's important that he hasn't given up on himself. Every rep will be important. Ahead of Philly's fourth practice session of camp, it was announced that a wrinkle would be added during the fifth. Nakobe will see his wish granted.

The Eagles will wear the pads on Tuesday during their fifth training camp practice.

"T-shirts and shorts is cute. But, we play football in pads". Say what you will about Nakobe Dean and how you feel he has progressed so far during his Eagles playing career. You won't find a more intelligent statement made about this game we love.

We understand what is taking place. The NFL made sure to take every step to 'take the head out of the game'. League offices have dedicated themselves to making the game we love safer, so you won't see practice sessions as long as you saw when you were younger.

The NFL Players Association regulates the frequency and length of practices. We don't see as many full-padded practices as you once did. Philly will need to make theirs count, and they will have an opportunity on July's final Tuesday. It will be fun to see how things transpire.

We may not be as happy as Nakobe about this. Make no mistake though. We're pumped
