It's time to take a few moments to acknowledge a dozen Philadelphia Eagles who have never earned the credit that they deserve.

There's nothing like the City of Brotherly Love. Where else can you find a more passionate sports town? Sure, sometimes that passion gives way to panic and pandemonium. Every Philadelphia Eagles fan birthed in this city (and the ones who are scattered all over the globe) share two traits though. They're undying loyal, and if you play your heart out in the kelly or midnight green (or both), your place in the hearts of the NFL's most passionate and loving fan base is secure forever.

It must be said again, however, that Philly is a different animal. The city has erected statues to boxing legends both real (Joe Frazier) and fictional (Rocky Balboa). Both share the underdog mentality, a trait that allows one to dig deeper than they may be able to dig on their own and perform at supernatural levels in the biggest moments. Wouldn't you know it? That's what we ask of our football team.

Every man on this list, at some point, has embraced the underdog mentality. They used the fuel they acquired to perform at peak levels and become franchise legends. There's just one issue. They don't get the credit they deserve.

That being said, let's take a few moments to put the spotlight on them, especially seeing as how they never put the spotlight on themselves. Here are a dozen Eagles that deserve to be mentioned more often when we discuss some all-time talents and Eagles greats.

We begin with a handful of honorable mentions.
