For the majority of the 2023-24 NFL season, the Philadelphia Eagles were one of the favorites to reach the Super Bowl for a second consecutive season.

Philadelphia started 10-1 after pulling out close wins against several playoff teams, but fizzled out down the stretch. The Eagles lost five of their final six regular-season games, lost their commanding lead in the NFC East and backed their way into the NFC playoffs with a wild card spot. Philadelphia no-showed in a first-round postseason loss to Tampa Bay, falling 32-9 to Tampa Bay as a road favorite.

Can Philadelphia return to form? According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Eagles are the fourth-favorites out of the NFC to win the Super Bowl at +1700 ($100 bet wins $1,700). That gives Philadelphia an implied probability of 5.56% to win the franchise’s second Lombardi Trophy.

The Eagles are the eighth-favorite overall to win the Super Bowl and in the NFC are behind only the San Francisco 49ers (+500), Detroit Lions (+1200) and NFC-East rival Dallas Cowboys (+1500).

After falling to runner-up in the NFC East to Dallas, Philadelphia avoided a first-place schedule and will face fellow second-place finishers in the Green Bay Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams.

Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl 59 odds

The Eagles retained head coach Nick Sirianni, who has led Philadelphia to the postseason in each of his three seasons at the helm. As is the case with every NFL team, the Eagles’ success depends on the play of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who battled a slew of injuries to throw for a career-high 3,858 yards and 23 touchdowns, though he did throw a career-high 15 interceptions. Hurts also ran for a career-high 15 touchdowns with Philadelphia’s “Brotherly Shove.”

Hurts, who was one of the MVP frontrunners before the Eagles stumbled down the stretch, is tied with Dallas signal-caller Dak Prescott as the eighth-favorite to win the MVP in 2024-25 at +1600.
