Heath Ledger put it best during his legendary performance as The Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight film. Well, he had a ton of memorable lines in that one, but with three Philadelphia Eagles preseason games in the books, we're reminded of one in particular.

"And, here we go!" Things are about to get jiggy now. The deadline approaches. Howie Roseman, Philly's coaching staff, the front office, and the scouting team are knee deep in evaluations. Who are those final five guys on the roster going to be?

Will the Birds keep five safeties? Might they go heavy at another position and keep, say, seven cornerbacks? The answer to that latter question is probably no. Have no fear though. We won't have to wait too much longer to find out.

Philadelphia Eagles Roster Cuts Tracker

We have all been through this before, so we know how things work. Every time our cellular devices alert us of a notification, we'll be dropping everything that we're doing.

The task at hand is well-known. Trim the 90-man preseason roster down to 53 men and a 16-man practice squad. We have known who the starters are for a long time (with the exception of that other safety spot next to Reed Blankenship).

There will be tough cuts. We may see a surprise or two, but regardless of what happens, everyone on the current unit deserves a tip of the cap for all of their hard work.

This story is developing and will continue to do so until Tuesday's deadline. Updates will be listed below this line.

UPDATE - Eagles release Dan Arnold - SOURCE

Dan Arnold's chances of making the 53-man roster seemed minimal as he was behind Dallas Goedert. Jack Stoll, and Grant Calcaterra on the depth chart. He lands among the first cuts. We'll see if he returns after Tuesday's deadline.

UPDATE - Eagles release Tyree Jackson - SOURCE

Tyree Jackson hauled in five passes during the preseason. That produced 72 yards. He's a tremendous athlete with a high ceiling if he can stay healthy, but that has been his issue. If he clears waivers, he's a nice addition to the practice squad.

UPDATE - Eagles waive Ian Book. - SOURCE

This one shouldn't shock anyone. Ian Book has been released.

UPDATE - Eagles to release several veteran offensive linemen - SOURCE

Per Jeff McLane, the Eagles are expected to release Dennis Kelly, Brett Toth, and Josh Andrews. All are vested veterans which means they wouldn't be subject to the waiver wire.

UPDATE - Eagles to release Tyrese Robinson - SOURCE

Tyrese Robinson earned Second-Team All-Big 12 Conference honors in 2021 and started all 12 games for the Oklahoma Sooners at right tackle. A 2022 undrafted rookie free agent signing by Washington, he was eventually waived and found his way to Philly's practice squad before being waived, re-signed to the Eagles scout team, and signed to a futures deal in February.

UPDATE - WR Deon Cain

Sources tell Jeff McLane that the Eagles intend to release wide receiver Deon Cain. Here's his tweet.

UPDATE - Johnny King is released

Inside The Birds Staff Reporter and Content Producer Andrew DiCecco reports the Philadelphia Eagles are set to release Johnny King. He's a six-foot-five, 209-pound wide receiver that was added to the preseason roster on August 8th as part of several roster moves including Devon Allen being activated from the active/non football injury list.

UPDATE (August 27th) - Eagles officially announce roster moves - SOURCE

The Eagles officially announce many of the above roster moves and make an additional announcement. Roderick Johnson won't be released. He heads to the injured reserve.

UPDATE - Eagles are releasing Trey Sermon - SOURCE

Sources have told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that fan favorite has been released. At the time of the report, there are only four tailbacks remaining on the Eagles roster, the guys most of us believed would make the team anyway: Kenneth Gainwell, D'Andre Swift, Rashaad Penny, and Boston Scott.

UPDATE - The Eagles cut a 2022 draftee. - SOURCE

Kyron Johnson has been released per Josh Tolentino. The 2022 sixth-round draft choice underwent an appendectomy at the beginning of training camp. He should clear waivers if the Eagles want to bring him back and place him on the practice squad.
