The reigning NFC Champions are out to repeat as NFC East champs as well this year. In short, the pressure is on for these Philadelphia Eagles.

There has not been a repeat division winner in the NFC East since the Eagles did it back in 2004, winning three straight titles. It has been maybe the most unpredictable division in football for about 20 years now.

As we head into the regular season, there is little reason to doubt the Eagles can repeat, but they'll face some stiff competition in order to do so. Heading into Week 1, is Philadelphia the current top dog within the NFC East?

Let's check in on our recent power rankings.

4. Washington Commanders

Not only do the Washington Commanders have the worst likelihood of winning the division this year, but they also possess the fifth-worst odds to win the NFC as a whole, acording to multiple betting outlets. That should tell you how little faith people have in this football team.

It is no surprise, either, because the Commanders have yet to solidify the most important position in football. They are hopeful that young quarterback Sam Howell can become the guy for them, but that remains to be seen.

Believe it or not, Washington finished as the league's third overall defense in yards allowed last year. If they can keep their big names healthy, at least they'll be able to play a tough brand of football on that side. In the end, though, it's all on the shoulders of Howell, and for right now, he hasn't inspired enough confidence to warrant the Commanders placing higher on this list.
