College football may be back, but discussions about the Eagles dominate the headlines, even if all we're discussing is roster cuts.

Well... Who watches the first weekend of college football and expects there to be tons of action? As Saturday afternoon transitioned into Saturday evening, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish was busy putting the finishing touches on a beatdown delivered to the Navy Midshipmen. Something dawned on all of us immediately (or it should have if it didn't. In a couple of hours, the USC Trojans are going to deliver a similar beatdown to the San Jose State Spartans. Raise your hand if you didn't even know San Jose State's nickname was 'The Spartans'. Oh well, we can always talk about our Philadelphia Eagles. Yes, let's do that.

Hopefully, some of you caught up on some sleep. You're going to need some. Things are going to get hectic.

Maybe you watched ESPN's broadcast of all of those high school football games. Maybe you found that North Alabama versus Mercer or that UMass versus New Mexico State game was more interesting than you thought. Here's something that was proven again and will always prove to be true.

Nothing trumps a discussion about Eagles football, even if all we're doing is discussing roster cuts.

The Eagles announce a flurry of roster moves during college football's first day of action.

Once we all settled into our weekend, came to grips with the fact that we'd have to watch the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and Vanderbilt Commodores duke it out, and accepted the idea that the NCAA wasn't going to reschedule a more interesting game for August 26th, Birds enthusiasts did what we always do. We began combing every avenue to see if Philly had made any roster cuts. As we expected, they did.

Thank everyone from NFL Insiders like Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero to trusted Eagles voices like Jeff McLane, but Howie Roseman and the Eagles coaching staff have been busy. Bookmark our Eagles roster cuts tracker for the appropriate credits on who reported what, but several moves have been announced.

Tyree Jackson and Dan Arnold have been released. Ian Book has been waived. Philly released Dennis Kelly, Brett Toth, Tyrese Robinson, and Josh Andrews. Deon Cain was reportedly released as well. Jeff McLane informed us via X that he believes Philadelphia released around 20 players to trim the 90-man preseason roster to 70(ish) players.

Things will get tighter now. Every NFL team must reduce the size of its roster to no more than 53 players by 4 p.m. EST on Tuesday, August 29th. Then, we'll discuss the waiver wire before the Eagles piece a 16-man practice squad together.

Buckle up. Things are going to get interesting. College football may be back, but make no mistake. Discussions about the Eagles continue to dominate headlines.
