Before we say anything else or type another word, let's get something established. We aren't condoning gambling or anything. We'd advise only betting what you can afford to lose but at 6 p.m. EST on Sunday, July 14. the Philadelphia Eagles fans living inside us got the best of us. One thing led to another. Next thing you know, we're on DraftKings' NFL Sportsbook.

Hey, what can we say? Curiosity will get the best of us every time. Besides, we just wanted to see what the experts said if someone was interested in making some extra pocket change.

There can't be anything wrong with checking out a line or two... or 17...

Most of Philly's games seemed favorable according to the experts. We won't know if they're right until those games are played, but the Birds would win 13 games if they come out on top in every game they're favored. You won't hear any complaints from us if that were to happen.

Let's talk about the four games in which DraftKings names the Eagles as underdogs.

We may disagree with our buddies at DraftKings on Philly's path to said 13-win season, but that's the same win-loss total we predicted when we released our game-by-game predictions after the regular-season schedule release.

If we're both right, this might be a special season after all. But, until then, just for kicks, here is a list of all 13 games the Eagles were favored in at last look.

  • Week 1 vs Green Bay in Brazil - Aug 9 (-1.5)
  • Week 2 vs Falcons - Sept 16 (-3.5)
  • Week 3 at Saints - Sept 22 (-3)
  • Week 4 at Buccaneers - Sept 29 (-3)
  • Week 6 vs Browns - Oct 13 (-3)
  • Week 7 at Giants - Oct 20 (-4.5)
  • Week 9 vs Jaguars - Nov 3 (-3.5)
  • Week 11 vs Commanders - Nov 14 (-7)
  • Week 14 vs Panthers - Dec 8 (-7.5)
  • Week 15 vs Steelers - Dec 15 (-4.5)
  • Week 16 at Commanders - Dec 22 (-3)
  • Week 17 vs Cowboys - Dec 29 (-2)
  • Week 18 vs Giants - TBD (-5)

Game odds update constantly and are expected to change regularly.

With that said, it doesn't take a math wiz to figure out the Birds are the underdogs in four games. Here's a look at all four along with some random thoughts and a few theories.

Week 8 at Cincinnati Bengals - Oct 27 (+3)

It doesn't seem like it should be this way. After all, Cincinnati has been bad more often than most of us remember them being respectable. Still, they lead the all-time series versus Philly by a 9-3-2 margin.

Those ties came in two of the past four meetings including the most recent. Remove those and Philly has still lost three in a row. This one is in Cincy, and the Bengals are one of the AFC North's best teams now when they are healthy.

That being said, we can understand a line that favors the team formerly known as the 'Bungles'. Besides, we also marked this one as a loss.

Week 10 at Dallas Cowboys - Nov 10 (+2)

You know the stats. The Eagles haven't beaten the Cowboys in Arlington since 2017. We threw a curve ball in our predictions. We actually have Philly finally breaking the jinx here but losing at home to their rivals in Week 17.

Week 12 at Los Angeles Rams - Nov 24 (+0.5)

This one has all the makings of a tough road trip. An East Coast team travels west for an 8 pm start in primetime. We have Philly winning this one in a close shootout where both teams score 30 points or more, but DraftKings sees Philly as underdogs in this game and their next one.

Week 13 at Baltimore Ravens - Dec 1 (+4)

We aren't sure if the Chiefs beat the Ravens in the most recent AFC Championship Game or if the Ravens beat the Ravens. Here's what we do know.

Baltimore was already one of the top teams in the American Football Conference when they were clicking on all cylinders, and they just added Derrick Henry by way of free agency before acquiring Nate Wiggins, Roger Rosengarten, T.J. Tampa, and Adisa Isaac during the NFL Draft.

DraftKings and our staff see this as being a tough night for Philly. Let's end this on a high note though. A 13-4 record is nothing to sneeze at.
