There is a ton of concern about Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown playing in their Week 8 matchup against the New York Giants.
Brown has now gone two straight days without practicing, which typically means that it is not looking good for the veteran receiver to play. He has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has kept him off the practice field.
It's already been an up-and-down year for Brown, with cryptic posts on social media and having rough games. He has caught 29 passes for 395 yards and three touchdowns in seven games.
The Eagles made a roster move on the second day of practice that might have already shown their cards about what they will do with Brown.
Philly's training camp darling is back at practice
Eagles wide receiver Darius Cooper's 21-day practice window was opened up, allowing him the chance to practice for the first time since before their Week 3 win against the Los Angeles Rams. Cooper was placed on IR after leaving the Rams game early with a shoulder injury. He was a full participant in practice for the Eagles after the window was opened.
This season, Cooper hasn't racked up any stats as he played more special teams on kickoff coverage. He has taken 20 snaps on offense through his three games.
It's a particularly interesting move, as most teams would open the practice week by opening the 21-day practice window, rather than wait until halfway through the week to do so. This most likely means that they are preparing for the idea of not having Brown for the Giants game and seeing if Cooper can play.
Cooper caught the attention of everyone in training camp after having six catches for 82 yards and a touchdown in the first preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals. That single game alone helped the undrafted receiver from Tarleton State make the 53-man roster.

With Brown's status for the Giants game looking worse and worse, can the Eagles lean on their young receiver Cooper to step up in his place?
