How can you not love this time of the year? The NBA has entered its home stretch. Baseball is returning. The Philadelphia Eagles begin their offseason as the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Their time of celebration has ended. Now, it's time to build another roster, and decisions must be made about several free agents.
There are needs: depth at tight end and running back, an edge rusher, another interior defensive lineman, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...
Don't forget about the secondary. Darius Slay has one more year on his current deal, but there is no guarantee he'll be part of this team's roster next season. Veterans Isaiah Rodgers and Avonte Maddox are among Philly's impending free agents. Yeah... We should probably talk about some cornerback prospects entering the coming NFL Draft.

Here are the Philadelphia Eagles most realistic options if they're looking at cornerbacks to add during the coming NFL Draft.
If nothing changes between now and April 24th, the Eagles own seven selections in the 2025 NFL Draft:
- Round 1, pick 32
- Round 2, pick 64
- Round 3, pick 96
- Round 4 (from Detroit)
- Round 5 (from Houston)
- Round 5 (from Washington)
- Round 5
We begin with unrealistic options and an opinion. Travis Hunter, Jahdae Barron, and Will Johnson are the top cornerback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. We checked with draft experts and scouts who analyze these guys for a living. Most believe those three will be off the board before Philly is on the clock with the 32nd selection.
If we were to rank Philly's draft needs, we'd say finding an edge rusher is the most important priority. We'll see what happens with Zack Baun and Milton Williams. We know the Birds can't keep everyone. Strategy will be further influenced by who is retained and he is allowed out of the building.
Philly drafted Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean in 2024. They've had Kelee Ringo waiting in the wings for some time now. There may not be a need to draft a cover guy early, but one must be on the shopping list. Here are the best who are not named Travis Hunter, Jahdae Barron, and Will Johnson.
1. Trey Amos, Ole Miss Rebels
Trey Amos looks just about as good as anyone else in this class. He's a six-foot-one, 190-pounder who, based on the eyeball test, probably runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
Again, that's a guess.
He's looked good everywhere he has been: Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns (2020-2022), Alabama Crimson Tide (2023), Ole Miss Rebels (2024). He is a solid cover guy who notched three interceptions last season. We place him atop our list but understand if others might rank guys ahead of him.
2. Shavon Revel, East Carolina Pirates
Shavon Revel is a six-foot-two, 188-pound cornerback. For reference, he's two inches taller than Quinyon Mitchell and maybe somewhere around five pounds lighter.
His perspective value will be tied to his medical evaluations. He missed all but three games after suffering a torn ACL during a practice session that ended his season. If he's good there and enjoys a solid pre-draft showing, he could probably be argued into the top spot on this list later.
3. Azareye’h Thomas, Florida State Seminoles
Azareye’h Thomas is another of this class's big cornerbacks. Chip Kelly would have certainly loved having these guys on the roster.
Thomas and Revel have similar body types as both are in that six-foot-two area, but Azareye’h flew under the radar, mostly because of a disappointing Seminoles season.
None of that can be blamed on this young man. He isn't afraid to mix it up at the line of scrimmage and stick his head in to make tackles. 37 career games produced 95 tackles, one half-sack, 15 pass breakups, a forced fumble, and two career interceptions.
4. Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Benjamin Morrison, like Revel, saw his season end earlier than expected. A hip injury ended the Notre Dame star's campaign after only six games.
With that being said, we glanced at the full picture here. 31 games provide a larger sample size to grade the 2022 Freshman All-American.
He had a nice showing in a game vs. the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2023, one where he helped limit Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka. He boasts nine INTs for his career, including six as a freshman. He'll be on everyone's draft boards as we turn the page from March to April.
5. Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky Wildcats
Worth noting: If you're starting to notice a trend here, you aren't alone. Several nagging injuries forced highly-touted prospects to miss valuable time in their final collegiate seasons.
Still, the guys on this list receive higher grades than other prospects in their class. Truthfully, we aren't sure about how we feel about that. Might this be one of the weaker classes as of late?
Let's instead focus on potential. If these guys are healthy, they'll become difference makers at the next level. Is there any chance of one of them landing in Philly?
