Saquon Barkley and the Philadelphia Eagles pulled off another win on Sunday. The 24-19 victory against the Baltimore Ravens allowed the Birds' star tailback to shine once again.

He finished with 107 rushing yards and one touchdown. It appears Vegas and the odds makers have taken notice.

Barkley's MVP odds immediately improved after Week 13's win. He only trails one of the game's best quarterbacks and sits ahead of another.

Saquon Barkley could end an 12-year MVP drought for running backs.

Historically, the MVP trophy has been awarded to quarterbacks more than any other position. The last time a non-QB received the honor was 2012 following a monstrous year by Adrian Peterson.

A dozen years have passed. Saquon is enjoying his brand of momentum. Questions are being asked now. Can Barkley do it?

After his Week 13 performance, he has leapfrogged Lamar Jackson on many sportsbooks. DraftKings Sportsbook lists him second (+350) as of 8 am EST. He only trails Josh Allen who has odds of -175. The reigning MVP, Jackson, is now given odds of +950 if you're interested.

Odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.

Despite a relatively quiet first half, Barkley scored his 11th rushing touchdown of the season during the fourth quarter. He also widened his lead on Derrick Henry in their pursuit of the rushing crown. Henry was held to 82 rushing yards. His most memorable play placed him on the wrong end of a highlight, a phenomenal tackle by Rookie of the Year candidate, Cooper DeJean.

MVP chants broke out during the game for Barkley. With 1,499 big ones through 12 games, he leads Henry by 92 rushing yards. History is also on the line. Barkley has a chance to join the 2,000-yard club. He may also conquer the single-season rushing record of 2,105 yards which is currently held by Eric Dickerson (1984).

Five games remain. He needs 607 to overtake Dickerson. It will be hard to take the MVP honor from him if that happens.
