There wasn't much good that came out of the Philadelphia Eagles' offense last year under Kevin Patullo, but there is still one positive from 2025.
The Eagles have nearly completely changed how they do everything on offense with new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Since taking over the team, Mannion has changed the scheme and the approach to the offense. That means more pre-snap motions, more passes over the middle of the field, and more RPO runs.
While Mannion was speaking with the media, he mentioned one thing the Eagles are looking to keep from last season. That one play the NFL just all of a sudden forgot about in 2025: the Tush Push.
“It’s going to be a part of what we do," Mannion said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "It's been an extremely effective play here. We’re going to lean into that.”

While the play still had a high conversion rate, Eagles fans noticed that the Tush Push did not work as well under Patullo as offensive coordinator. Jalen Hurts being stripped of the ball on a Tush Push against the Chicago Bears last year was the perfect symbolism for how much it struggled.
Things are different this season from last, though. The Eagles' offensive line is much healthier, with Hurts typically running the Tush Push on the side with Landon Dickerson and Cam Jurgens. Dickerson and Jurgens both battled through injuries throughout the 2025 season.
The Eagles' offense is in much better shape than last year, with a different playbook. If Mannion wants to add something else that Patullo actually did well in 2025, it's the quick screen passes to Dallas Goedert and pitch runs to Saquon Barkley out of Tush Push. Those little wrinkles in the play actually helped them be more creative.
So far, Mannion has said all the right things that fans wanted to hear from Patullo last year. This one really shouldn't be a surprise since both said it about the Tush Push. The team is converting it at 75% or higher each season, so it should be a play they continue to run.

Eagles fans can only hope that the Tush Push will work much better under Mannion than it did in 2025 under Patullo.
