The 2026 Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver room is going to look very, very different from how it has looked over the last few years.
A.J. Brown is about to be traded, which will be the biggest departure from the team. The Eagles also won't have Jahan Dotson anymore, which means the team has to replace two of its top receivers.
DeVonta Smith is the new clear-cut number one receiver on the team, but behind him is a ton of talent, including rookie first-round pick Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, Marquise "Hollywood" Brown, and Elijah Moore. While everyone is focused on Smith preparing to be the number one receiver, the Eagles' new offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, shared his thoughts on the wide receiver room.
“It isn’t about one single piece," Mannion said via Eagles Wire's Victor Williams. "It’s about how they all fit together.”
Eagles' wide receiver room is more than just DeVonta Smith
Everyone wants to pay attention to Smith because this is the first time since his rookie season that he is viewed as the number one receiver and no longer has to live in the shadows of A.J. Brown. What makes this season different from the other Eagles seasons is that there is more than just one or two guys for quarterback Jalen Hurts to throw it to, as there are so many different types of weapons behind Smith.
For instance, Lemon is a slot receiver who can kind of do it all, while Wicks is a possession receiver on the outside. Hollywood is going to be used on the outside as well, but he's the speed demon who is going to stretch the field vertically.
The good part with Smith is that he can do it all on the outside. What's better is that the pressure isn't on Hurts just to throw him the football, as there are so many different weapons on this offense.

Philly has a good problem at receiver, and even with A.J. Brown most likely gone, this might be the deepest wide receiver room they have ever had.
