These Eagles' seats sure seem to be getting hotter by the day

Will they make it through training camp?

There are plenty of unknowns going into the Philadelphia Eagles' 2026 season as new players join the team and some turnover occurs within the franchise.

The hope is that the newcomers will make more of an impact than last year's free-agent class, despite fewer players being signed this offseason. In total, 11 players have been signed, and quarterback Andy Dalton is the only one who has been traded for.

Philly's new players will challenge the more tenured players for their roster spots, leaving this training camp with higher stakes than ever. Which ones on the Eagles' roster are currently on the hot seat going into the new season?

Smael Mondon Jr., LB

Eagles fans would like to think that since Mondon is in Year 2 and was just selected in last year's NFL Draft, he would be okay, but Philly could have different plans at linebacker. Chandler Martin was brought in as he's more of a special teams ace, but could challenge Mondon for a spot. With Nakobe Dean gone, Mondon must step up and show he can provide the depth at linebacker the Eagles were hoping he could.

Andre' Sam, S

There have been some changes in safety, with Sydney Brown being traded to the Atlanta Falcons and the Eagles bringing back Marcus Epps, with the new addition of J.T. Gray. They could also add safety in the NFL Draft to develop as a future starter. That puts more pressure than ever on Sam to step up and take a bigger role on the team, as his roster spot isn't as secure as it might have been going into free agency.

Quez Watkins, WR

Watkins seems like a long shot to make the roster despite his impact on the passing game early in his NFL career. The arrivals of Marquise "Hollywood" Brown and Elijah Moore, with a rookie most likely to be drafted, will certainly make it harder for Watkins to make it. He'd better put together the best training camp of his career if he wants to play in Philly this season.

Mac McWilliams, CB

Jonathan Jones and Riq Woolen have given the Eagles depth and McWilliams a headache as he tries to find playing time in his second NFL season. Since he was selected last year by the team, he could very well make the roster, but there is very little room for error, as he must step up and perform well if he wants to avoid a spot on the practice squad.
