Philadelphia Eagles fans might not know this, but football is back this week, and plenty of former players will be playing.
The United Football League kicks off its third season with eight teams, each playing 10 regular-season weeks and two playoff weeks. While there may be some new teams that have relocated, the players on the field will be familiar to those in Philly.
Several former Eagles players who played in regular season games or were on the practice squad will be on the field. Here are some key big names who will be playing in UFL games this season for fans to check out.
Greg Ward, WR, Dallas Renegades
Ward is the biggest name on the list, as he played a major role in the offense during the final two years of the Doug Pederson era. While the 2020 season was a nightmare for Eagles fans, Ward had a career year with 419 yards and six touchdowns. In three seasons with the Eagles, he caught 88 passes for 768 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Deon Cain, WR, Birmingham Stallions
Cain had stints with the Eagles from 2021 through 2023, mostly on the practice squad. During the 2022 preseason, he caught eight passes for 106 yards.
Hakeem Butler, WR, St. Louis Battlehawks
Butler was on the Eagles' practice squad on and off throughout the 2020 and 2021 seasons. He has since established himself as one of the top wide receivers in spring football over the last three years.
Deontay Burnett, WR, Dallas Renegades
Burnett spent most of his three seasons with the Eagles on the practice squad from 2019 through 2021. He did appear in a game in a Week 17 game against the New York Giants in 2019, where he caught two passes for 48 yards in the win.
Ajene Harris, CB, Dallas Renegades
Harris went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, where he signed with the Eagles afterwards, but did not make the roster. He would be on and off the practice squad that season.

Luis Perez, QB, Dallas Renegades
"The Spring King" was with the Eagles back in 2019 after his successful run with the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football. He would be waived shortly after that, but he has established a long career as a starter in spring football.
