This key Commanders concern is music to Eagles fans' ears

One hit wonders.

It was quite the surprise when, two seasons ago, the Washington Commanders managed to reach the NFC Championship Game despite having a rookie quarterback running their offense. Jayden Daniels was that good, though. Fortunately, he wasn't good enough to get his team past the Philadelphia Eagles, who won the game and went on to win the Super Bowl two weeks later.

In Daniels' second year, he and the rest of the Commanders squad struggled to stay healthy and finished with a lousy record. Eagles fans quite enjoyed that.

Now, after a down year, Commanders fans might be thinking it's time for Daniels and the rest of their squad to bounce back. Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck isn't so sure that will happen, however.

Eagles fans will enjoy what Tim Hasselbeck said about Commanders

During an appearance on On The Fence Podcast, Hasselbeck complimented Daniels but said that he wasn't sure the Commanders did enough for their franchise quarterback. This is music to Eagles fans' ears.

"The fear I would have at receiver, just in general, is that they just don't have the top-end speed that some teams have. The explosiveness, things like that, that the offense may lack, there's got to be some concern with that," Hasselbeck said. "Does it have to be perfect around him? No. I think he's proved that at times. But expectations have changed. I think there's a challenge here. He's incredibly gifted. There is enough around him, but it's not the help Baltimore eventually got Lamar [Jackson]."

Now, it's worth noting that Hasselbeck gave Jayden Daniels high praise. But he's clearly concerned that the Commanders didn't do enough to surround the former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback with talent to help him succeed as he enters a crucial third year in the league.

This is obviously good news for the Eagles because if the Commanders continue to ignore helping out their star quarterback, it'll make it easier for Philadelphia to keep passing them in the NFC East. It wasn't fun watching the Commanders be a competent franchise two seasons ago, so hopefully they keep getting in their own way and not giving Daniels enough help.
