A pair of second-half forced turnovers fuel fantastic Eagles 4th quarter finish

Here's some radical honesty. Though no one should ever call wins and losses before the game clock is full of zeroes, we can tell you EXACTLY when we knew the Philadelphia Eagles had broken the 53-year jinx. It just felt like something was happening... and, it was!

With just over a dozen minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles vs. Cincinnati Bengals affair, the Birds came up with a phenomenal interception.

Replacing an injured Darius Slay, Isaiah Rodgers was tested as Joe Burrow gambled by challenging him with a deep ball. Joe's gamble wouldn't produce a winner.

Rodgers tipped the pass away. C.J. Gardner-Johnson snagged an interception. The INT was hauled in so quickly and effortlessly that we didn't know it had occurred until C.J. began celebrating.

Philly would score 13 points off three Bengals second-half turnovers. We're including a nice stop by Cooper DeJean on a fourth-down attempt during the third quarter. That gave the Birds the ball on downs.

In total, Philly tallied 27 second-half points en route to an Eagles win while only giving up seven points to Cincinnati's offense.

We've been waiting for a total-team performance and that special win to propel this team to newer heights. It feels like we got one in Week 8. Philly is 5-2. This is the team we've been waiting on all season. Now, they just need to keep the ball rolling.

This isn't a championship-winning team yet. We can only hope they become one. Still, honestly, it's too early to know if they will be. Still, this is how we felt when Jake Elliott nailed that 61-yarder versus the New York Giants in 2017. Might we be in store for great things? Might we look back and one day say this was the game that catapulted Philly to greatness?
