Nick Sirianni and Co. are looking up to Chicago in the standings following their Black Friday clash, and that's somehow not even their biggest concern.

Only one side could come out on top in the Black Friday showdown between two 8-3 clubs, and it certainly wasn't the Philadelphia Eagles. They looked lethargic on both sides of the ball and were overpowered in a 24-15 loss to the Chicago Bears, to say the least.

It's no secret the Eagles haven't performed as well as their record indicates in 2025. There are levels to the game, and Philadelphia is currently not up to the standard it needs to be to repeat as Super Bowl champions. However, that was particularly felt against another NFC contender like the Bears, who earned their fifth consecutive win.

Conversely, the Eagles have now dropped two straight contests ahead of their next matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers. It's a concerning, season-altering development that all but slams one promising door and opens another problematic one in a jam-packed playoff picture.

With that in mind, let's take a look at where Philadelphia sits in the conference standings following their dispiriting defeat to the Bears.

Updated NFC playoff standings after Eagles' deflating loss to Bears

  1. Los Angeles Rams (9-2, first in NFC West)
  2. Chicago Bears (9-3, first in NFC North)
  3. Philadelphia Eagles (8-4, first in NFC East)
  4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-5, first in NFC South)
  5. Seattle Seahawks (8-3, second in NFC West)
  6. Green Bay Packers (8-3-1, second in NFC North)
  7. San Francisco 49ers (8-4, third in NFC West)
  8. Detroit Lions (7-5, third in NFC North)
  9. Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1, second in NFC East)
  10. Carolina Panthers (6-6, second in NFC South)
  11. Atlanta Falcons (4-7, third in NFC South)
  12. Minnesota Vikings (4-7, fourth in NFC North)
  13. Arizona Cardinals (3-8, fourth in NFC West)
  14. Washington Commanders (3-8, third in NFC East)
  15. New Orleans Saints (2-9, fourth in NFC South)
  16. New York Giants (2-10, fourth in NFC East)

Any chance the Eagles had of securing the No. 1 seed and a bye was effectively squandered by their disappointing Week 13 result. Not only did they cede the head-to-head advantage to the Bears, but the gap between them and the white-hot Los Angeles Rams widens. Yet, with the Dallas Cowboys surging and pushing for NFC East supremacy, this is somehow the least of Philly's concerns.

The Cowboys are peaking at the right time after making some massive midseason changes, while the Eagles are trending in the opposite direction. They split their two meetings, but Dallas notably has a better divisional record, which is the next tiebreaker. With that in mind, Philadelphia playing on the road during Wild Card Weekend is becoming increasingly likely.
