When Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio says something, he means every word that comes out of his mouth.
Fangio spoke with the media prior to their Tuesday training camp practice, where he discussed his new cornerback Adoree' Jackson. There was no holding back from Fangio as he seemed to have issued a challenge to the eight-year veteran.
"Yeah I don't know if I would say it's the place. I think it's time for him to show that. In Tennessee, when it came time to re-sign after his contract was up, they didn't. The Giants when his contract was up, they didn't. It's time to show who he is, or who he isn't."

Is there pressure on Jackson to perform well at Eagles training camp?
After the departures of Darius Slay, Avonte Maddox, and James Bradberry, the Eagles reloaded their secondary with the focus on moving up Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean to the stars of the unit. They signed Jackson to a one-year deal to compete for the outside cornerback job with Kelee Ringo.
It has been a highly contested battle at training camp with Ringo and Jackson splitting time with the first-team reps. There's been a mixed bag of performances from each guy as there isn't a clear cut starter named yet.
Jackson should be in the running after being a former first-round pick of the Titans back in 2017. While he was solid as a starter, he never lived up to those high expectations and was relegated to just an average NFL starter. During his eight years with the Titans and Giants, Jackson racked up 404 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 61 pass deflections, four interceptions, six forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries in 97 games.
At 29 years old, Jackson still feels like he can be a reliable corner to play. Whether he can still start in the NFL is the bigger question that will be answered in training camp and preseason.
There's a part of the Eagles that wants to see Ringo elevate his game and take over the other outside corner spot, but Jackson at least gives them the insurance they need in case Ringo doesn't take that step forward.

It does feel as though Fangio needs to see more out of his veteran cornerback, so that will be something to watch out for in the next month at camp.
