Through the darkest time for the franchise this season, the Philadelphia Eagles need to use the Bat Signal to find a leader on this team who can get them through this.

The Eagles are on a three-game losing streak and are struggling to close out the season with an 8-5 record. Some individuals have stepped up, but for the most part, this team has struggled to find players who play consistently.

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was asked about Jordan Davis after the defensive tackle's viral comments about staying positive and still believing during the offseason despite their struggles. Fangio gave high praise to Davis and went so far as to say he has taken on a new role on the team.

"He's really a fun guy to be around. Good personality, likes being here, comes to work, enjoys work. Yeah, he has emerged as somewhat of a leader. Yeah he has."

Davis's actions show a guy who has taken up a new role as a leader on the Eagles

Even before the season, Davis set the tone early that 2025 was going to be different for him. He ended up losing 26 pounds to get lighter and improve his endurance on the field.

That strategy has certainly paid off for him as he is having a career season for the Eagles and is playing like a guy who deserves to be in the Pro Bowl. Through 13 games, Davis has racked up 55 tackles, seven tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, six pass deflections, 4.5 sacks, one field goal block, and one block returned for a touchdown.

When looking deeper into the numbers, Davis's impact on the passing game is where he has shown the most improvement. He has swatted six passes down at the line and applied eight pressures on the quarterback. Pro Football Focus has Davis graded out as the 16th overall best interior defensive lineman out of 128 in the NFL, grading at a 74.4.

In a season where Jalen Carter was inconsistent at the beginning of the year and has missed three games, it has been Davis stepping up into that role for Carter. Davis has done everything from rushing the passer to stopping the run to make sure the defense doesn't miss a beat.

Eagles fans have really gotten to see the true potential of Davis that they have been waiting for. He's become more than just Carter's sidekick as he is now a key figure in the team's success on defense.
