Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was part of a cool moment in football as he participated in the Fanatics Flag Football event, but, of course, social media ruined it for the stupidiest reason.
The Fanatics Flag Football game featured three teams: the Founders, Wildcats, and Team USA. The Founders and Wildcats featured all NFL players and celebrities, while Team USA assembled the best flag football players in the country. Hurts and DeVonta Smith were on the Founders team while Saquon Barkley was on the Wildcats.
Barkley caught a touchdown from Joe Burrow on the Wildcats during the tournament, while Smith caught a touchdown from Hurts. One of the top moments was Hurts catching the Philly Special for a touchdown from Tom Brady during the day. Of course, it was the one negative play Hurts made that got all the attention.
Social media went way too far with Jalen Hurts negativity
During the Founders' matchup against Team USA, Hurts threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown. Of course, social media decided, for some odd reason, to pile it on to Hurts for throwing a pick-six to a non-NFL player.
Ironically, Burrow did the exact same thing earlier in the day, but the lack of attention to it meant most football fans wouldn't even know it happened. All eyes were on Hurts.
The negativity towards Hurts is getting out of control, even though this guy has done nothing but the right things. He has done nothing wrong on and off the field, he wrote a kids book, he does so much in the community in Philly, and he has achieved so much in his NFL career. How about three Pro Bowls, two Super Bowl appearances, and one Super Bowl MVP?

It's clear that Hurts can't do anything right in the eyes of fans because they simply don't like him. What a weird hill to die on, but Eagles know the truth about their star quarterback and all the great things he has done. Everyone can keep criticizing him while Philly embraces him as the quarterback they admire.
