Things have been very bad for the Philadelphia Eagles over the last four weeks after losing all those games, but the NFC East division dream isn't completely dead...yet.
The first place New York Giants suffered a 34-27 loss to the New Orleans Saints, featuring the Giants' debut of JJ McCarthy at quarterback, who threw for 243 yards and nearly led a massive comeback. Next up, the Dallas Cowboys dropped another dud, losing to the Green Bay Packers 23-13 on Sunday Night Football. To end things, the Washington Commanders tried to mount a comeback, but fell short against the San Francisco 49ers, 23-17, on Monday Night Football.
This marks the first time in NFL history that an entire division went two straight weeks without a win, even though two of them played each other during that stretch. That means only one thing for the Eagles: they are still alive for a division title.
Eagles still have a shot to win the NFC East after six weeks
Let's take a look at the mess that is the NFC East standings through the first six weeks of the 2026 NFL season:
1. New York Giants (3-2-1)
2. Philadelphia Eagles (2-4)
3. Dallas Cowboys (2-4)
4. Washington Commanders (1-4-1)
New York is already falling apart, as they might be starting their third quarterback of the season. The Giants are considering either McCarthy or Jameis Winston.
Dallas' offense has been bad through the last two games. They have scored just 29 points, and Dak Prescott has thrown four interceptions in that span. This season, the Cowboys are also in the bottom five in rushing defense.
Washington just flat-out looks bad right now, even with Jayden Daniels back at quarterback. Daniels threw an out-of-bounds pass on fourth down in the 49ers game, another boneheaded decision after his incident against the Giants, when he didn't realize the clock had run out in overtime, forcing the Commanders to settle for a tie.
The Eagles are just as messy as the rest of the division. They have a ton of injuries, including Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season with a blood clot in his calf that has traveled to his lungs.
If the Eagles can count themselves lucky about anything, it's that they are playing the Cowboys in Week 7 on Monday Night Football. The national audience can suffer with Eagles fans as they watch the team try to bounce back from their Week 6 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

It is truly a blessing for the Eagles to find themselves in a division that is just as much of a disaster as they are. While everyone is ready to punt on the season, the rest of the NFC East is leaving the door open for the Eagles.
