It was much ado about nothing earlier this week for the Philadelphia Eagles when a post from the team's social media crew shared a clip of Quinyon Mitchell intercepting a pass from Jalen Hurts in training camp action.
What outsiders failed to account for is that Mitchell, of course, had been egged on a bit by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio for not having tabbed a regular season interception to date, so a quick clip of him corraling a pick in practice was offered up.

The single clip drew over 14,000 impressions in 24 hours, with opposing fans and talking heads unleashing criticism on QB1. It was just the latest example showing how powerful - and oftentimes unfair - a microscope Jalen Hurts operates under daily as the star signal-caller for the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jalen Hurts is what every Eagles fan wants in a QB1
Since day one as a starter for the Eagles, and even before then, when he was replaced as the starter of a national championship powerhouse back in Alabama, Hurts has remained resolute in never letting critics - or all the inherent pressures of being a quarterback in such a big market - get to him.
Not even one bit.
Folks can knock different phases of his game all they want, but he himself remains un-phaseable, thus making him the perfect type of leader at quarterback in such a major media market, smack in the middle of such a jacked-up, rabid fanbase.
The sound bites over the years since Hurts took the wheel as QB1 in Philly are treasures, as there are countless examples of how he coolly blocks out all the outside chatter and focuses solely on what he can control. The bounce back from that first Super Bowl heartbreaker at the hands of the Chiefs, his ability to come back even stronger and best Mahomes in Round 2, showed everyone he's always been built for primetime.
And year after year, despite the knocks on certain attributes that make him such a polarizing quarterback come time for rankings and debates, he blocks out the noise and bright lights he operates under. The perceived pressure is just that, and only that, according to Hurts.
“Perception is from those who are watching,” Hurts said. "I'm not watching, I'm living."

In light of the innocent interception clip shared by the team's social media department, it was just another opportunity for Hurts' haters to bark out loud. It doesn't faze QB1, and nothing does, which makes him the ideal signal-caller for the city of Philadelphia.
