After a miserable four weeks of Cam Jurgens playing on the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line, can we please have Willie Lampkin come save this team?

Jurgens' Week 1 was not bad, with no pressures allowed at center, but he was called for two penalties. Then Landon Dickerson was placed on IR with a knee injury, and Jurgens moved to left guard, with Drew Kendall moving up to center.

Since then, Jurgens has delivered week after week of horrendous performances at left guard. After reviewing the tape and the numbers, it's clear that Lampkin must replace Jurgens in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.

What has gone wrong with Cam Jurgens through four weeks with Eagles

A perfect example of Jurgens' struggles came in the Eagles' Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles faced a third-and-goal at the two-yard line when Jalen Hurts was stuffed for no gain. NFL Media host and analyst Brett Holman said Jurgens was to blame.

"Went through all the camera angles. The reason why the Eagles run failed on 3rd and goal from the 2 (which likely would have scored) is because Cam Jurgens slightly false started, but it wasn't called.

He was on top of Hurts too quickly as he pulled, and his hand hit the ball as Jalen took the snap. Caused a bobble, which meant the ball didn't actually get handed off."

Sumer Sports had Jurgens allowing five pressures in the Rams game, and he's now allowed a whopping 13 in the three games he's started at left guard. It's clear as day that Jurgens is simply not cutting it as this team's left guard.

How Willie Lampkin can help Eagles out with Cam Jurgens problem

Granted, Lampkin faced backups in preseason, but he allowed no sacks in his two preseason games. He was so good that the Eagles didn't let him play in the last preseason game so he could rest, which ensured he made the 53-man roster.

Yes, there will be a conversation about Lampkin being undersized and not even six feet tall. Many have seen that as a problem and have not taken him seriously as a starter.

During training camp, though, Lampkin competed against the Eagles' defensive tackles and made them look silly in pass protection. Few got past Lampkin to pressure or sack the quarterback.

This is the same guy who went 953 pass-protection snaps with North Carolina and didn't allow a sack during those two years. These are not numbers to ignore.

Letting Jurgens keep struggling at left guard would be borderline criminal, and for those worried about offensive line continuity, nothing is working anyway. The Eagles might as well let Lampkin have a chance to win the left guard spot. Lampkin can at least hold down the job for a few weeks until Dickerson returns and the Eagles can figure out what to do from there.
