Dear LeSean McCoy,

Just shut up already!

Enough is enough, seriously. Everyone understands that you’re upset that you were traded by Philadelphia Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, we get it. But the endless talks and “jabs” that you’re taking at him regarding whether or not he is racist are just unbelievable, especially in this latest story by Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. It’s clear Kelly isn’t racist, but you’re just too ignorant to accept the fact that you were traded because…oh, I don’t know, you’re not the greatest character to have in a locker room when Kelly is trying to build a specific culture.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the color of your skin, or anyone else’s. Yes, he also released your buddy wide receiver DeSean Jackson. Not because he’s black, nope, but maybe because just like you, he puts himself first before the team. Jackson is the same guy that was reportedly bragging to his friends about how he just wanted to have a good game when his new team, the Washington Redskins, played the Eagles. He didn’t care about the team at the end of the day, it was all about himself.

Same goes for you, “Shady”…or should I call you “Salty”? Stop being so upset about the trade and focus on helping the Buffalo Bills win football games. This may be tough to hear, but Kelly actually replaced you by signing two, wait for it…black running backs. Woah! It may be a tough pill to swallow but DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews are actually team-first guys that are hard workers and put the team before themselves. Something you may not know much about.

Character trumps talent in Kelly’s eyes, it’s so obvious. He could care less if you led the league in rushing yards, nobody can ever be bigger than the team. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters. It has nothing to do with race. But it has everything to do with being a good person both on and off the field. Someone that is going to come to work with the right mindset to better themselves and everyone else around them each and every single day.

Oh, one last thing. Regarding the comment you made about Kelly getting rid of “all the good black players.” Explain to me why he gave offensive tackle Jason Peters a huge contract extension. How about exercising the 5th-year option for defensive end Fletcher Cox? How about the fact that he offered wide receiver Jeremy Maclin $10 million a year to return? Oh, let’s not forget the fact that he just drafted five black players.

But enough about this nonsense you’re claiming. Kelly is one the nicest, kind-hearted guys in the entire league. You’re claiming that the guy that visited New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz in the hospital following his knee injury is a racist? The guy that sent flowers to Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Devon Still’s daughter during her cancer treatment a racist? The guy that visited Philadelphia police officer Robert Wilson III’s funeral during the midst of free agency to deliver a football to his family a racist?

Oh, let’s take a look at an offseason trip he made to Africa so he could personally educate and spend time with the youth there:

Just stop it, “Salty.” Everyone understands you’re bitter and sad about your abrupt departure out of the City of Brotherly Love. You and Jackson are the only former players that have been so outspoken about your experiences in Philadelphia and comments towards Kelly. These reactions only further prove exactly why Kelly got rid of the both of you.

That is all, Mr. McCoy, now please just shut up and play football.

From,

Anthony DiBona
